After 1 month and half in Australia, my belly was desperate for authentic Asian food. For setting a good start for the next 2 months in Southeast Asia, I stayed 5 nights at The St. Regis Bangkok, conveniently located right in the heart of Bangkok. This property happens to be one of the best and most luxury hotels in the city where the competition is very high for hotels industry, and overall, it didn't let me down.
The property provided tranquil views of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club golf course, with its expansive greenery providing a welcome contrast to the never ending concrete jungle. In a city like Bangkok, where concrete dominates, this greenery view is a luxurious feature.
I was able to secure five nights using 142,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, which represented great value when compared to the standard nightly cash rate of $335 USD.
Checkin :
Before arriving, I communicated with the hotel on the Marriott Bonvoy app, where I was notified that I am eligible for an upgrade to the Metropolitan Suite and Grand Metropolitan Suite with my Titanium Elite status. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the doormen, who handled our luggage. One of the doormen, Pou, escorted us to the hotel lobby on the 12th floor for check-in.
However, the check-in process left much to be desired. The front desk staff member was not as welcoming as expected, particularly by Thai hospitality standards. More disappointingly, despite being eligible for the Grand Metropolitan Suite and the suite being available to book online, I was told that this category was not within the scope of suite upgrades. While I understand the business rationale behind limiting suite upgrades, this was a recurring issue I’ve faced in Bangkok. After I presented the pre-arrival confirmation from the Marriott Bonvoy app, the staff reconsidered, and I was upgraded to the Grand Metropolitan Suite.

Room :
On entering the room, you’re welcomed by a long corridor leading to a spacious living room on the right and the bedroom on the left. On the left-hand side of the corridor, there is also a thoughtful powder room for additional guests.
The living room provided a refined space to relax, while the bedroom exuded comfort with luxurious bedding and elegant decor. The suite’s wardrobe room added an extra layer of sophistication, providing ample storage space and a sense of privacy.

Restaurant :
Breakfast was a combination of buffet-style with à la carte selections. The buffet selections featured a variety of dishes, ensuring that there was something to suit every palate.
Conclusion :
The St. Regis Bangkok truly feels like a sanctuary amidst the urban sprawl of Bangkok. The combination of luxury, service, and lush greenery creates an inviting escape from the city's chaos. In my opinion, a luxury hotel should always offer a view of greenery, and The St. Regis Bangkok delivers in that regard.
